Museums in Charlotte

With the large influx of young professionals in the city, it is only natural that Charlotte begins to develop better museums to show off how educated the city is. Charlotte offers many different types of museums ranging from American history, Aviation, science, and even the sport of NASCAR. One of the most popular museums in the city of Charlotte is the Discovery Place Science Museum located near downtown Charlotte. This museum is intended to educate the younger audience about the STEM sciences and inspire them to take their education to the next level. Their exhibits are constantly changing on a regular basis, but some include building projects with Legos, learning about the wildlife, and learning about the human skeletal structure. The Carolinas Aviation Museum is located right in Charlotte next to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, a very fitting location to have the museum. The museum allows visitors to learn about how planes work, but they also have historical pieces that can’t be found anywhere else. They even have a full-sized Airbus A320 that visitors can experience in real life. Finally, fans of the popular sport of NASCAR, they can visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Similar to the Carolinas Aviation Museum, the NASCAR Hall of Fame teaches kids about the science behind the industry, but they also have historical memorabilia. Finally, for those looking to learn about the history of the South, they can visit the Levine Museum of the South. Here, they can learn about the history of the American South during the period after the American Civil War. Learn more about Charlotte here!
